The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest sustainability initiative signed by 16,000 companies worldwide. The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption, and to act in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Signing this initiative is an important step in our journey. It connects and aligns our sustainability efforts with the various issues the world is currently facing. This will make our new sustainability strategy more robust and trustworthy with our external stakeholders. It will also help us navigate and make a real impact where we have the power to do so.
This commitment is only one of many responsible business practices Awin implements as part of its strategy to foster infinite partnerships, empowering them to grow ethically and sustainably through their choice, control, and customization.
What does this mean for Awin?
All companies who are members are required to publicly express the company’s ongoing commitment to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact at the highest level and report on corporate action and performance related to the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) annually. This helps drive accountability and reinforce the need for progress in areas that are still needing improvement. As a new member in 2024, Awin's first communication on progress is to be published by July 31, 2025.
