Mid-Market Sales Team Lead - DACH/ EE/ Nordics (f/m/d)

Purpose of position

As the driver of the Mid-Market sales strategy for the DACH, Eastern Europe and Nordics regions, you will be accountable for the management and development of the sales and revenue pipeline, securing quality high-revenue merchants to the network. 

You will be responsible for driving the results of the DACH, Eastern Europe and Nordics Sales Team by coaching, coordinating, and measuring their progress on a day-to-day basis. Acting as a critical component in the department, this role reports to the Head of Mid-Market EMEA and is geared towards owning the day-to-day running of the team.

Key Tasks

  • Maintain full ownership of the sales funnel, from lead generation to closing deals in the DACH, Eastern Europe and Nordic regions.
  • Provide detailed reports based on data about the current pipeline and sales results.
  • Lead and coach a team of sales managers, fostering their development and managing performance.
  • Comfortable with national and international travel meeting clients at trade shows events and in one-on-one meetings.
  • Be able to identify and act swiftly on new sales opportunities based on industry knowledge
  • Have a good knowledge of B2B marketing – is able to understand how to judge the effectiveness of lead generation campaigns
  • Make tough decisions confidently and work independently with a growth mindset.
  • Be open to change and adaptable to new strategies and market conditions.
  • Be someone who can communicate across different cultural mindsets
  • Skilled in cold calling and handling complex client RFPs.
  • Develop and implement strategies tailored to the mid-market segment.
  • Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities within the mid-market.
  • Understand the unique challenges and needs of mid-market clients and provide effective solutions.
  • Be an important regional stakeholder who is able to represent needs of the sales teams across departments
  • Manage Salesforce pipeline reporting for individuals and the department.
  • Responsible for maintaining a streamlined qualification process, ensuring fees are upheld to the highest rates or within any pricing guidelines, and the accuracy of forecasting override is in line with benchmarks set by the Head of Mid-Market EMEA.
  • Ensuring year-on-year growth of all revenues and targets from Mid-Market client acquisition.

Skills & Expertise

  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial roles, with a focus on new business development in affiliate marketing, digital marketing, B2B marketplace, or adjacent industries. 
  • Experience leading a sales team, with strong people management skills in an international environment.
  • Demonstrates previous achievements in reaching/overachieving on targets set.
  • Excellent level of communication and client relationship skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, and desire to provide an unrivalled level of service.
  • Possesses demonstrable skill in co-coordinating a team in projects and working practices.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com and sales pipelining software. 
  • Excellent computer literacy, including advanced skills with the MS Office suite. 
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to effectively interface with clients and stakeholders of various levels of seniority. 
  • Native level German language skills are essential as well as business fluency in English. Additional languages (e.g. Polish, Swedish) are an advantage.
  • Self-driven and commercially savvy, with the ability to drive projects autonomously in a fast-paced international environment.
