Junior Data Requirements Analyst

At Awin, our mission is to empower teams across the organization through the utilization of data-driven insights.  We equip the company with reporting and tools they need to thrive in daily endeavours.  Our role is to be a strategic ally, providing the insights that fuel decision making, enhance client support and uncover new avenues for growth.  Together, we’re building a future where data fuels our success and drives endless innovation.  As a Junior Data Requirements Analyst, you have visibility into the business reporting requirements and existing reporting to help direct and train people on the right reports and tools available to them.  You have a top-level understanding of the data systems and structures to provide guidance to the company on how to translate data into actionable insights for customers.  Where new development is needed, you outline requirements into clear, executable items and manage stakeholders’ expectations with excellent communication skills.You combine technical and business knowledge to become the bridge between Data Services and other departments across Awin.  You are the business’ primary contact, representing the Data Services department answering questions on communication channels and leading our quarterly roadshows.  You enjoy working with cross functional teams from various backgrounds and cultures.  

KEY TASKS

  • Data Analysis:
  • Ability to analyze existing data sources and systems to understand their structure and content
  • Proficient in converting data found in reporting into customer recommendations and insights
  • Present data findings clearly and confidentiality
  • Conduct training on existing reporting to increase adoption and usage
  • Requirement Gathering:
  • Collect requirements for any type of reporting, data warehouse enhancement or project in a structured way
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and document their data reporting and analysis needs
  • Create detailed documentation of data requirements for technical implementation, including data definitions, data points, and data sources
  • Effectively manage stakeholder expectations, proactively communicate timelines and provide due date estimates based on development sprint events and squad capacity
  • Manage Ticket Backlog:
  • Respond to tickets in line with SLA commitments
  • Accurately qualify and complete tickets so the product owner or developer can confidently fulfil the request
  • Prioritization and Roadmap Management:
  • Conduct prioritization meetings and oversee cross-functional projects from start to finish
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with data engineers, data integration analysts, architects, and product owners to ensure requirements are implemented in an optimal way
  • Find solutions to better current ‘ways of working’ with colleagues
  • Actively engage with various departments outside of Data Services to ensure alignment on project deliverables
  • Share responsibility for project milestones and adapt to any changes based on agile methodologies

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor degree or higher in marketing, business, project management, data science, computer science or similar education with focus on data/business intelligence/analytics is preferred
  • Familiar with Power BI, Tableau or any other visualization or analytical tools
  • Basic understanding of databases and data querying languages – SQL, SparkSQL or Python
  • Project management skills, agile mindset, SCRUM or Kanban experience
  • Affiliate industry knowledge or background in online marketing
