Purpose of Position
At Awin, we’re building a Product & Technology organisation that thrives on delivering measurable business outcomes, driving strategic impact, and fostering innovation. The Product & Technology Operations department mission is to act as a force multiplier, driving collaboration, alignment, and efficiency across Business Intelligence, CRM, Engineering, Infrastructure, Internal Technology, Product and Security. By fostering clarity, improving team health, and enabling seamless execution, the P&T Ops department ensures the collective efforts of P&T deliver outcomes far greater than the sum of their parts.
As the Head of P&T Operations, you will design, enable, and sustain this force-multiplying function. You’ll lead the core operational pillars— P&T Ops, Agile Coaches, and Technical Program Management—ensuring they operate cohesively to empower teams, deliver exceptional results, and communicate with clarity to stakeholders.
This is your opportunity to shape the operational backbone of a global organisation, creating the systems, practices, and culture that empower teams to solve the right problems while ensuring the value P&T delivers is well understood across the business.
Key Tasks
- Lead and Develop Operational Functions: Oversee and mentor P&T Ops Managers, Agile Coaches, and Technical Program Management, ensuring each function delivers on its unique mission:
- Agile Coaches: Improve team health, elevate ways of working, and establish a centre of excellence for agile practices.
- Technical Program Management: Act as delivery managers, creating strong bridges between teams and departments to ensure seamless collaboration and execution.
- P&T Ops: Ensure clear, consistent communication with stakeholders, so they understand what P&T is doing without needing to navigate internal complexities. Drive clarity in both inflow (requests, feedback) and outflow (updates, decisions).
- Be a Clear Communicator and Connector: Ensure P&T operates with one unified voice, making it simple for stakeholders to understand what’s happening and why it matters without navigating internal complexities. Serve as a bridge between P&T and other departments, fostering transparency, alignment, and trust while advocating for operational excellence.
- Foster a Culture of value creation: Embed customer-centricity, continuous discovery, and measurable impact across P&T, ensuring all teams create and capture meaningful value.
- Create Alignment Across Teams: Build rituals, processes, and systems that ensure collaboration across Product, Engineering, Data Services, CRM, Infrastructure, and Security, all working toward shared objectives.
- Bridge Outcome and Output Worlds: Recognise when to prioritise outcome-driven approaches, focusing on measurable impact and customer value, and when output-focused delivery, like structured execution for infrastructure or security, is the best approach. Ensure teams balance both perspectives effectively, enabling the right practices for each unique challenge.
- Choose the Right Workflow Models: Instil service-based throughput workflows for operational, high-volume tasks that benefit from speed and predictability, and cross-functional goal-oriented ways of working for initiatives that require strategic alignment, discovery, and impact. Guide teams in applying the model that best suits their goals.
- Act as a Strategic Partner: Work with P&T leaders to align roadmaps, priorities, and resources with the company’s strategic goals, ensuring operational functions enable success.
- Drive Operational Excellence: Build and optimise operational frameworks, processes, and tools to enable teams to work effectively and scale without friction.
